It is essential to learn Spanish from a native speaking teacher. I have been teaching Spanish for more than 20 years. I am a fluent speaker of Spanish and English, originally from Argentina. I also grew up in Mexico, and I am very familiar with the different types of Spanish and slang from different cultures thanks to my experience. All the instruction is given in Spanish. Once the class begins, I’ll speak mostly in Spanish, which will force you to learn through listening and speaking. I’ll explain in English some of the more difficult concepts in order for you to learn quickly. There will also be reading and writing material. You will discover the meanings of words and phrases in the context of real-life situations and not just by translation. Practice is key to learning Spanish, and for that reason, you will practice your conversation skills as often as possible. This will allow you to eventually "think" in Spanish. When you can do this, you will know that you're really learning.
I’m also a professional interpreter and translator (English/Spanish).
